Saige, 2013, and AGP

Heyy guys! So in two days I'm going to the American Girl Place! :)
I'm going to the American Girl place on January 1st! I saved up my money and the gift is the transportation to get there.
This trip is mostly because it's so exciting to go on the first and they give away a free GOTY t-shirt this year. (Last year the exclusive item was a bag for McKenna's gymnastics items). There's also some crafts and activities like a scavenger hunt to do so it will fun to do and get the items you can only get at an AGP. I will not be eating at the Cafe or anything like that, so it's mainly to go in, get Saige's Starter Collection, do the crafts, and take pictures of the new MAG and GOTY items. I'll definitely take lots of pictures for you guys, and possibly a video although I'm sure it will be very loud and crowded so I'm not sure how enjoyable the video would be to watch. I'm really excited and I'll vlog before I go, and while I'm there as much as I can since it will be very busy.
I plan to get Saige's Starter Collection, and maybe her horse and the horse's accessories (I think they're called the Parade Saddle Set or something like that). Or possibly her Starter Collection and her pj's and dress. Or maybe the easel. As you can tell, I'm still deciding :) I began saving in June for her so I've got a head start.
Anyway, I'll take lots of pictures and I'll make an opening video. I'm going to have a post tomorrow about 2013 and things like that :)
Thanks for reading/commenting and have a great New Years Eve Eve!

P.S. My family's computer is being fixed, after being broken on and off for a few months, so I'll be able to upload more videos and pictures! We should get it sometime late next week.

I'm so happy with all that I got and I have a very special gift I'll let you know about soon.
I hope you enjoyed what you got and have a wonderful day!
There will be pictures and a What I Got later, but for now thanks for reading/commenting and have an amazing day!

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town :D

Heyy guys! I'm so excited for Christmas this year. Can you believe it's tomorrow er.. more like several hours away?!
For Christmas, my family has my aunt over for a week or so. On Christmas Eve, we read The Night Before Christmas and I hang my stocking. I put the presents from me to my family under the tree already and Santa will come during the night. I leave cookies and milk for Santa, and oats and a for the reindeer. I always write a note to Santa each year. I finished baking the cookies about an hour ago and I'm just finishing up before we read TNBC and I go to sleep so Santa can come. Sometimes, we track Santa on one of the online Santa trackers, it's really fun to see where he is.
What does your family do for Christmas?
Let me know in the comments below what you asked for and how your family celebrates for what holiday you celebrate :)
Thanks for reading/commenting!

P.S. I'll have pictures of the cookies and milk in a future blog post, probably next week :)

Merry Christmas, Happy (belated) Hannukah, Happy Kwanza, Happy Winter Vacation, and have a wonderful Winter Break!!!

New Series: Insider Info #1

Heyy guys :) So, I've been working on a new series for a little while now and I'm really excited to reveal it to you...but I think I should wait until it's closer to my uploading schedule. So right now, I have the storyline all worked out. I actually finished it on the bus ride home today... haha, I was trying to cover what I was writing because I was sitting next to this girl and I had no clue if she was looking at my paper. I actually get really paranoid about people looking at what I'm writing, even if it's just homework. I don't know why, I just do...anyway, back to the series idea. So, I think my weekend will pretty much be taken over by making sets and coming up with outfit ideas. Without giving too much away, the series I'm planning is pretty elaborate in the sets and theme. So, I really need to go to the store and pick up some supplies. I'm actually going to the craft store in about 15 minutes, so I can pick up what I need at A.C. Moore.
Here's my "Shopping List" xD
A.C. Moore
-3 Rolls Of Duct Tape (not for the series, my friends are doing a gift exchange and they are for the girl that I am getting the gift for)
-Posterboard (I'm guessing this will be a few dollars, so I think I'll get one)
-Felt (brown, blue, green, red, etc)

Staples
-Notebook (for my videos)

And I think that's it :)

------------------------------------------------The Next Day----------------------------------------------
So we actually ended up leaving right as I finished typing  the shopping list. So, it's Saturday morning and yesterday I went to A.C. Moore. I did end up getting everything I needed however I also got two other items. They're so cute (and doll-sized!) :)  The first item was a little bucket with handle. It's very cute and will definitely be used in my series. The second item is a little basket/picnic basket. It's so cute and will work great in my series. I did get a notebook for my video ideas and I'm going to use that from now on instead of just randomly writing down ideas in my school notebook.

I actually ended up getting one large cardboard tri-fold. It was less than $4 and the foam-core one was $15. I thought that was crazy, and I like the cardboard one better anyway because it still had a blank inside (they also had colored ones) and I can draw on it unlike the shiny foam ones with you can draw on because it doesn't show up since it's glossy. For the felt, I ended up getting about 12 sheets of various colors. A few sheets were the same but I have a nice variety now. That's pretty much it for the supplies and I have colored pencils, markers, and paints at home so I'm going to get to work on the set soon. I'm so excited for this series! Below, there is a schedule on the anticipated uploading schedule.

*Note: These are estimates. Not exact dates and subject to change*  (that was so official, xD)
December 1st-2nd - Make sets / Make Behind-The Scenes Video
December 9th - Upload Episode 1
December 16th - Upload Episode 2
December 22nd - Upload Episode 3
December 30th - Upload Episode 4
January 6th - Upload Episode 5
etc, etc, etc.
As you can tell I'll be uploading Sunday's except for December 22nd. I'm not quite final on how many episode there will be, since I don't yet know how long I want to make each episode. Please comment down below how long you would like them to be. I don't want to bore you by making them over 6 minutes but I want them to be long enough so it's not over in 30 seconds. They will be live video (not stopmotion), I may make an AGSM series in the future but not for this one. I also really want to make a Christmas special and I'll pause filming and editing for a few days to film that.
So, I'm super excited for this and more Insider Info posts to come :)
Thanks for reading/commenting!

P.S. Next Insider Info, the title is released :D

Goodbye McKenna...

Heyy guys! So McKenna's first item sold out a few weeks ago and now a lot of her collection is sold out. What isn't sold out is back-ordered except her books and DVD which will be out after she's retired. McKenna Brooks was a very popular doll, especially since the Olympics were this year. I remember seeing her picture for the first time at the very end of December 2011 and thinking she'd be a great doll to add to my collection. (At the time I had 3, almost 4 dolls as I would end up getting one very soon.) Now, I have 6 (due to 2 surprise dolls) and am glad I stopped myself from getting McKenna. Not because she isn't an amazing doll, she is so pretty and I love her hair. I just wasn't totally into the gymnastics theme of her stories. I actually used to do gymnastics and if I still did, she would definitely have been one of my favorite dolls. However, I don't do gymnastics anymore so she wasn't the best fit for me, but she's a super amazing GOTY.
It's actually really hard to believe that McKenna will soon be gone :(
We'll miss seeing you so much McKenna, but you'll be remembered forever!
The Lovely McKenna
Her beam and bar set
Her amazing loft bed
I love her school outfit!
Her fancy outfit - my favorite outfit of hers :)
So these were some of my favorites from her collection. Leave a comment letting me know your favorite McKenna item and what you loved about her.
Goodbye McKenna...

The Result Are In! Poll #5

Heyy guys! I held a poll on my blog for the past few weeks. Since Saige is a really big topic now in the AG community, that's what I made the question about.
21 people voted and here's the results:

The Question... Will You Be Purchasing Saige?
Definitely                                      (52%)    11 People
If I like the rest of her collection    (14%)     3 People
Maybe...                                      (28%)     6 People
No                                               (4%)       1 Person
So that's what you voted :)

My opinion: I think that I will be purchasing Saige. I started saving for her in August :) I was just so excited for a new GOTY. When I found out that she would be into art it just made me 10x more excited...I love art: some of my favorites in art specifically are drawing and coloring.
Have a new idea for a poll? Leave a comment down below and in the results for the poll you'll get a shout-out.

GOTY 2013 Events at AG Places

Heyy guys! I was on the American Girl website the other day, and noticed that they had posted the special events for her in 2013.

Her debut is January 1,2,3, and 4 - Girl of the Year 2013 Debut. It says," Celebrate the arrival of our newest Girl of the Year! She's a spirited girl who uses her imagination to create art and inspire change. At this special event, your girl can be among the first to learn about this new character's world. Join us for demonstrations, crafts, free giveaways, and more.

Other events include Girl of the Year 2013 Crafts and a Scavenger Hunt.
Girl of the Year 2013 Crafts - "She can discover her creative side with our newest Girl of the Year! Join in the fun during this free event, where your girl can make crafts inspired by the stories of our newest contemporary character.

Girl of the Year 2013 Scavenger Hunt - "Learn about our newest Girl of the Year! Your girl will go on a fun-filled scavenger hunt, collecting fun facts about our Girl of the Year 2013 along the way. Plus, she'll get a free American Girl poster at the end!

The way that they explained her made it sound like her stories will be more about art than horses. "...spirited girl who uses her imagination to create art and inspire change."

Another event they have is the GOTY 2013 Celebration.
Girl of the Year 2013 Celebration - "Join us to celebrate the arrival of our newest Girl of the Year! At this special event, girls will learn about this new contemporary character, make fun crafts, and enjoy a delicious meal. Includes an American Girl book to take home."

For exact dates and times, check the American Girl website Store section. It may vary depending on which AGP you go to.

My Opinion/Detailed Review on Saige GOTY 2013

Heyy guys! I have a post on Saige already, but this post will be more about my opinion of her.

Saige Girl of the Year 2013

So here is Saige. She's very pretty and I like her a lot. At first, I wasn't sure if I like her dress, but now I think it's very cute. Her boots are my favorite part of her meet outfit. I like the belt on her dress. I think that her clothing will have a more "earthy" look to them, which I think will be a fresh change to McKenna's colorful wardrobe. As much as I do enjoy McKenna's colors, pink, blue, and green, I think it will be nice to have a doll with more earthy tones, which I what I would expect for Saige. Her boots are so cute, and you can see a close-up below. I like the way the straps on them criss-cross near the ankle.
Saige's Meet Boots
Saige also has earrings! I was very excited to see this because I think it would really cool for a GOTY to come with earrings. Even though you could get a doll's ears pierced after purchasing them, I think it's cool that Saige comes with them. There are two pictures below. The one on the left shows a close-up of Saige's face and you can see the earrings. The picture on the right shows a small bag attached to the side of the box which could hold extra earrings. What do you think is in the small bag? I think it's an extra pair of earrings. Here are the pictures:
Close-up of Saige and her earrings
The small bag on the right of the box

You can see in the picture above that Saige also has freckles. They are under her eyes and across her nose as well. I think her freckles add a special touch to her and are extremely cute :)
Saige has auburn hair. It's brown-ish red-ish color and I love that her hair comes in a braid. I'm hoping that it has a little wave to it, and since her hair comes in a braid, I think it will. I like dolls that have slightly wavy hair because it looks styled even when it's down and you can still style her hair. I think the length of her hair will be about mid-waist. Since her hair is braided and still in the hairnet and is laying over her shoulder, I think that it will be longer once it is taken out of the hairnet and un-braided.

The rest of her meet outfit is really pretty too. I think it will be a dress however it could be a shirt tucked into a skirt. The belt on the skirt part is really pretty. As I said before, I think Saige's wardrobe will be more "natural". I like the ruffled look and her sleeves are half-length.
Saige GOTY's Meet Outfit

So to wrap up this "review", I'm really excited for Saige. I think that she will be the next addition to my doll collection and I've already begun saving up for her. I was pleasantly surprised by her hair color! It's such a pretty auburn color.e
So, what is your opinion on Saige? Let me know in the comments below.

Budgeting Money for American Girl

Heyy AG lovers!  Today I'm going to be sharing with you some budgeting strategies I use when it comes to American Girl.  Whenever I decide I want to put aside money for American Girl or purchase something from AG, I count all my money.  So, what do you do after you've saved all this money? Do you spend it all? Do you keep saving?  These are questions I think about, because while saving money is a popular topic, budgeting doesn't seem to be out there as much. So I put together this post  :)
1. Count Your Money
This post will help most if you have a lot, maybe over $200, because that's when budgeting your money can become more important.

2. Wishlist
Creating a wishlist can be fun, so put together a list of what you'd like most. From there, you can figure out what you would like to get. Put in some non-AG items too :)

3. Saving What You Have
Put aside some money to keep saving, if you'd like. That way, you still have some money and you have a starting point for saving after you've spend some money.

4. American Girl/Non-American Girl
My suggestion would be to put some money aside for non-ag items, like clothing, other hobbies you're interested in/toys , camera, etc. I love art, so for me these other things include art supplies. Try putting 1/4 of your money aside for other items, and keep the remaining 3/4 for American Girl. If you have many other interests other than American Girl, try half for AG and half for whatever else you'd like. Take the non-AG items from your wishlist and put that with your money.

5. American Girl
AG is expensive, so take a look at the AG items on your wishlist and total the cost. If you have less money than what your wishlist costs, split your list in two. Things you'd like most, and things you want but can wait. This way you're not permanently removing anything and you can get it at a later time. Now, you're ready to order or buy AG items.

5. *Remember*
A few things to remember:
*AG releases and retires items. If you're worried that something may retire soon, get that first. Also, they release new items. If you are around a time when you know AG usually releases new things, wait to see if you like anything from the release.

*You don't have to spend all your money at once. It is okay to keep saving some if you'd like.

*Remember what you like most. If you didn't originally want something, don't "talk yourself into" an item just because you have money for it, if you don't really like it that much.

If you'd like to see Saige, see my post here: http://ag4ever365.blogspot.com/2012/11/saige-goty-2013.html
Now that you know what she looks like, maybe she's your next item to budget money for :)

How do you budget your money? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading/commenting!

Saige GOTY 2013 with Picture

Heyy guys! A photo of the doll Saige is here! Who/where/when the photo was taken by is unknown, and Doll Diaries has the photo on their website. I decided to share my opinion. Here she is:

She's so pretty! She has a fair complexion, different than what most people thought she would have. Since the book description said she lived in New Mexico, people though she would have a more Hispanic complexion. So I must say that I was surprised to see what she looks like. She is very pretty though!! She has blue-ish eyes (2 year in a row!) and brownish hair. I was surprised that she had blue eyes though...McKenna and now Saige do, that's two Girl of the Year's in a row. He hair is brown, although it looks like it has some brownish-red in it. Her meet outfit is very cute. It looks to be two separate pieces, although it may be a dress. Her horse is on the cover with her and you can see the Meet book better here.
Also, I apologize for not posting in a while....my family's house lost power due to the storm.
So, do you like Saige GOTY 2013? Leave your opinion down below :)

AG Free Shipping Promo Code

Heyy guys! Today I'm sharing with you the code to get free shipping off your order from American Girl. This works for orders over $100. It is PF29096. Enter this in the code at the top of the online shopping bag screen. Again, it only works for orders over $100, so check for the subtotal to be over $100. If you enter this at the beginning before you've added anything to your order, once you reach $100 subtotal it will show up as $0 under shipping. You can also add it at the end. Hope this saved you some money on your AG purchase! :)

AGP Trip Summer 2013 and GOTY 2013

Heyy guys! I really would like to get Saige, GOTY 2013!As of October 2012,  I hope to save up enough money throughout the rest of this year and next year, 2013, to get her collection...I know, big dreams! :)
AGP!
On January 1st and 2nd, they give out a "goody bag" and have some really cool events, but they have similar and more events throughout the year (crafts and celebrations for the GOTY, same things that they give on the 1st and 2nd but spread out for the events, as well as some new items that weren't given out on the 1st and 2nd). I'm hoping/planning to go in the Summer (July/August 2013). I would like to go during one of the events for the GOTY and have a personal shopper. The personal shoppers are free, and they can help you make decisions as well as look through some items in a back room before deciding what you'd like to purchase. They can also give you some special items, like a poster for the GOTY or newest historical. I'm very excited to go...probably in July. I started saving 10 months ago! :) I'm putting that aside for next year.
I would like to get her in January or February, however, I think that it would be so cool to get a doll in a store! I've never gotten a doll from an AGP so I think that would be really fun...but since I would probably be going in July or August that would leave 4-5 months to get the rest of her collection. I think that I would like to get her collection throughout the year, instead of saving (I'll have more money by Summer 2013) and getting it within 4 months. I do actually have my birthday and Christmas after August though, so that also gives me chance to get a few items.
This post was basically just what I plan to do in 2013, for AGP and GOTY. What do you think of the new GOTY 2013? Her name and basic storyline has been revealed, not what she looks like quite yet....can't wait for that! :)
So thanks for reading/commenting and have a wonderful week!

Doll Kitchens

Heyy guys! I always enjoy looking at doll food, so I scoped out some ideas and kitchens on the internet. Leave your opinions on each kitchen below :)

First, the popular Our Generation Gourmet Doll Kitchen

Many videos and blogs show this kitchen...it's very cute! It retails for around $62 at Target and online. I like that it comes with a lot of doll food.

Kit's Cookstove & Produce and Preserves

This is one of Kit's items from American Girl. It's not actually a complete kitchen, but the cookstove could be used in a doll kitchen. I put the picture of the Produce & Preserves because it goes with the cookstove and includes some food/cookware. The costs are $68 for the stove and $34 for the Produce and Preserves. Together, it would be $102. I think that the OG kitchen would be a better deal if you're looking for something that is a full kitchen. However, something more realistic looking (the OG looks more like a play kitchen to me) the Cookstove might be a better way to go even though it's based from the '30's.

Payne Street Doll Boutique Kitchens
I can't show a picture here, but follow this link to see some: http://www.psdollboutique.com/Doll-Tables---Kitchen-Sets.html
These kitchens are lovely and realistic. I like that they are made out of wood and are handmade. As you can see on the site, they have some great features such as opening cupboards for storage. These are a bit pricy, but since they are handmade and made-to-order (colors and styles) you can see the value in them.

So which was your favorite? If you know of any other doll kitchens, let me know down below. I'd love to hear about them :)  Thanks for reading/commenting!

Blog Design

Heyy guys! I'm re-doing my blog design, so if you see anything that looks weird it's because I'm in the process of changing things and updating it. I'm kind of bored with this look and may go back to it someday...but I want something fresh and new. I think it will also inspire me for some new posts! Thanks :)

Series Update

Heyy guys! Over the summer I had a series planned out called "One of Us." I'm postponing that series to next year (2013 Spring or Summer or Fall) and starting a new series for Winter 2012. I have the basic idea with main characters so now I need to finish the story, film and then I can begin editing. I hope to have a trailer up sometime in October or early November and begin the series in mid-late November or early December. More details will be revealed later but I'm really excited and can't wait to start filming!

My Birthday

Heyy guys! My birthday was recently so I'm going to be telling you what AG things I got! :)  I'm really excited and am making a video as well, that should be on my YouTube channel this week.
So I got....

Courtyard Furniture! I'm really happy that I was able to get this as it was a limited edition item and wasn't in the latest catalogue because they're retiring it this year.

Marie-Grace's Summer Outfit - This is a gorgeous dress and comes with a hat and shoes as well. It was another limited edition item.

Cecile's Summer Outfit - A dress, shoes, and bonnet. This is really pretty and looks wonderful on Cecile!

Lacy Parasol - A Cecile & Marie-Grace item that I just love! It's so realistic and really cute :)

Weekend Fun Outfit - A MAG outfit, I love this one! This was my favorite outfit from the June 2012 release earlier this year.

Doll Hair Studio DVD - A DVD that shows how to do about 50 styles on your AG doll

And now for the completely unexpected surprise gift...

Kit & Ruthie!!
I'm so happy to have Kit and Ruthie in my AG doll collection now. I recieved these two lovely dolls and was shocked and so surprised when I opened the box! I also got their Meet Accessories and the book they came with.

Thanks for reading this post and I hope to have pictures up soon!
