A Few Updates

Heyy AG Lovers! Today I have a few things to share with you.

  • I'm saving up for a new camera. If my plans work out I should be able to get it the end of this year, which seems like a really long time from now, but it will be worth it. I'm going back and forth between the Canon Rebel t3i and the t4i. I went to Best Buy with my family few weekends ago and one of the employees explained the differences between them to me. I'm leaning towards the t4i based on what she told me and the research I've done in the past couple months. Anyway, my goal is to get the camera by November/December 2013.
  • I'm doing a "blog design makeover". I would like to put in a banner at the top with a picture/pictures. I'm also changing up the design as well so expect to see some changes. I may add another page like a  Q&A as well.
  • I will be making a doll room/house soon. I don't really want one of those doll house with the cubes because you can only arrange things and you can't really be in there to move things around, also it's harder to film in a box. I plan on making more of a "shelf" type house with large shelves in my closet replacing the plasticy shelves I have in there now. My doll room is in a corner of my room on the floor and the shelves in my closet. I have one of my closet doors removed to create a connection between the two spaces but I would like to make shelves that are taller so my dolls can stand up comfortably. I will probably start this project in March, because I want to film my series first so I can set something up without being busy rearranging and building other things.
  • On my YouTube channel, I'm making a series that will begin in spring. So this will take up a good part of my weekends for about 1 month.. I'll be busy filming and editing but I'm super excited for it :) I can't really say what it's about yet but a future post will tell more information when I get closer to actually uploading the first episode.
  • So that's pretty much it for updates. Thanks so much for reading! :D

All My Dolls: Video and Descriptions

Heyy guys! Today I will be showing you all of my dolls :)  I linked my video that was on YouTube here and there are also descriptions of each below the video.

My "All My Dolls" Video

Doll Names and Descriptions.

Julie (Marie) Albright - I got Julie as my first doll. She's the Historical Character from 1974. I don't have any of her collection, so I am using her as a modern doll. If I get any of her collection in the future when I save up some more money I may also have her be a Historical and modern in my videos.

Zoe - I still need a last name for her....Comment ideas down below! I got Zoe in 2010. She is MAG #49 and is super gorgeous :) Her favorite thing to do is bake.

Cécile (Amélie) Rey - Cécile was my third doll and I got her for Christmas in 2011. She's the Historical Character of 1853. I'm keeping her as a Historical.

Marie-Grace (Rousseau) Gardner - Marie-Grace is the Historical Character of 1853 along with Cécile. I got her in January 2012. I am also keeping her as a Historical.

Kit Kittredge - I got Kit for my birthday. She is from 1934 during the Great Depression. I'm going to probably make her a modern doll, but I may switch back to Historical sometimes. I may be re-naming her but I don't know yet.

Ruthie Smithens - I got Ruthie along with Kit for my birthday, she's also from 1934. I am also making Ruthie a modern doll/Historical sometimes. I haven't decided what her personality will be yet. I may be re-naming her

Saige Copeland - I purchased Saige with my own money on January 1st 2013 at the American Girl Place :) She's super pretty and my first GOTY doll.

If you have name suggestions for Kit and/or Ruthie please leave them below. Thanks for reading/commenting!

New Series Coming Spring 2013

Heyy AG Lovers! Today I'm updating you on my new series. I've written about 1/4 of it so far and hope to finish the story line by February. I have all the characters and the dolls playing the parts worked out. I want to finish filming all of the episodes before I upload any. I plan to edit them as I go but I really want to get everything filmed ahead of time that way while I'm uploading the episodes I have time to make other videos that aren't part of the series. A preview/trailer type video will probably be uploaded in March. The first episode will be up in late March or early April. I will then upload every week. More posts like this in the future :)

My MAG Dream Wishlist

Heyy AG Lovers! I put together a dream wishlist for all of the MAG things. I'm not getting all these items, if any, and won't be getting anything from AG until (at least!) February.
I put them into categories.
Clothing
Sweet Savannah Dress

I love the ruffled part on the front and the whole outfit's very fashionable.

Soft-as-Snow Outfit & Earmuffs

I love the sweater in this outfit and it's just so cute!

Butterfly Garden PJ's for Dolls + Charm  and  Garden Robe & Pillow for Dolls

These pajamas are so cute and I love the matching robe and pillow.

Accessories
Salon Styling Caddy

I love styling my dolls hair and trying out new hairstyles so this caddy would be so much fun to have. I've wanted it for a while and I think in my next MAG purchase, I may get this one.

Coconut

She's just so cute!

Service Dog Set

I love this set and how it has the vest and handle. I also love Chocolate Chip, the dog this set comes with.

Furniture:
Baby Grand Piano

I play the piano and this gorgeous piano would be perfect so my doll could have one as well, although my piano is not a baby grand! :)

Dreamy Daybed & Bedding

I'd love to have a bed for my dolls at some point in time and this one's very colorful and I love the design.

Dreamy Nightstand Set

This is so cute and matches the bed above :)

So I think that's pretty much it :) I basically went through the website and looked at different items that I might want. I might now have seen the whole website but this is what I found.
So what's on your dream wishlist? Let me know down below in the comments.

New MAG Items ~ January 2013

Heyy AG Lovers. With all the excitement surrounding Saige, I wanted to pause and take a look at some of the new MAG things!

I Love Pets Pajamas for Dolls

I find these very cute and since AG re-released Licorice it's a perfect fit for Coconut and Licorice. The leggings has a very cute heart, star, and other shapes, pattern on it. The slippers look so soft.

Fun & Games Table

This set confused me at first and didn't look "modern" to me or very "2013". But when I saw it in person at the American Girl Place it grew on me. The nachos do look better in person than in the pictures. The checkers set is very cute and like the Apples to Apples game in the Sleepover Accessories, you can play it and it has instructions. The table is low to the ground making it perfect for activities and you don't need chairs. Overall, I think it's cute but not necessarily one of the first things I'd buy for the $58 price tag.

Cozy Lounge Chair

When I first saw this chair I thought it was so cute! But the price is $48! I understand AG is expensive but that's a bit much even for them. I expected it to be about $30, but it's nearly fifty dollars. While I think it's so cute, I don't think I'll be getting it any time soon if ever, even though it's one of my favorites.

Softball Set for Dolls + Charm

I'm not a big fan of this set, but for girls who play softball I think it's wonderful. Since I'm not a very "sporty" person, AG's sport sets aren't very exciting to me, but I know lots of girls love sports. It's a cute outfit, I just personally don't like softball that much.

Skates & Gear

These are basically a copy of the old Skate Set, which I have and got earlier this year. The only difference, other than the new color scheme, is that it doesn't come with stickers. I liked the old ones that came with stickers as you could personalize it. For $34, this set could have come with stickers. I do like the new colors however and it's a great set to have, I really enjoy mine (retired version). But AG just took away the stickers and changed the colors, so I don't see a huge difference in the sets.

So those are the new MAG releases! I do enjoy all of them but don't see myself really getting them except maybe the pajamas. I won't be purchasing from AG until Spring since I just got Saige and some of her things.

What do you think of the new MAG things? Let me know int he comments below :)

McKenna's Furniture Compared to Saige's Furniture

There's been a lot of talk about Saige's lack of "furniture"on videos and blogs. I decided to put together this post comparing McKenna's large accessories and furniture with Saige's large accessories and furniture.

McKenna's Beam and Bar
Costed $85

McKenna's Loft Bed
Costed $224

Saige's Horse and Parade Saddle Set
Horse costs $94 and Saddle Set is $38

Saige's Hot Air Balloon Set
Costs $150

So now onto my opinions, McKenna's Beam and Bar set was extremely popular and I think it was a great accessory for her collection. Saige's Horse and her Parade Saddle Set, while we don't yet know how well it will sell, I think it will be a big hit for horse lovers and doll lovers alike. Both of these sets offer good play value and creativity in videos as well. Now onto their "big" piece, McKenna's Loft Bed does come with more accessories than Saige's Hot Air Balloon Set. It doubles as a bed, so that's great as well, but you can't really play with a bed except well, put her to bed. The additional accessories added more fun to it though. Saige's Hot Air Balloon comes with less accessories and has been criticized for not offering play value because it won't actually fly, however with a little imagination I think it's a great product. Dolls and toys aren't meant to necessarily automatically do what their supposed to, it requires creativity on the users end, so while I do think that her Hot Air Balloon could have come with more accessories to add to the play value, I don't see the problem with it not flying automatically. However, it's less than McKenna's Loft Bed was so maybe that's why there are less pieces included. But, if I could choose between one of them, I would pick McKenna's loft bed.
Theses are my opinions and I'd love to hear yours. Leave a comment letting me know what you think about McKenna's accessories compared to Saige's.

Opening Other Saige Outfits/Accessories (What I Got Pt. 2)

Heyy guys! This is the final part of my What I Got Videos/Posts. I also purchased some other Saige outfits and accessories (no furniture).
I got:
Saige's Dog
Saige's Sparkle Dress
Saige's PJ's
and Saige's Painting Set.

Here's the opening video:

Saige's Dog - He's so cute! This dog is super soft and unlike many of AG's pets which have a hard body covered by a layer of fur, his more like a sturdy stuffed animal, without the hard body frame.

Saige's Sparkle Dress - This dress is stunning! If you can see it in person, it looks a bit different than on the website. It's prettier! The gold boots are so cute and the necklace adds something to the outfit.

Saige's PJ's - I love these! There absolutely adorable and I think that adding in the two hair ties was helpful for doing pigtails in her hair to keep it neat. The slippers are so soft like all of AG's slippers I've seen. The other AG pajamas I have are the Coconut Pj's (last years winter pj's, still available) and the slippers in those are very soft as well, AG does a great job making soft slippers! :)

Saige's Painting Set - This set comes with lots of fun accessories and is great to set up. I'm looking forward to doing a photoshoot with this set :)  I'm pretty sure I'll be doing a review on this set since it comes with a lot of accessories and I'd like to show them up close. It's so much fun to use and set up with Saige and highly recommended. I paid for all of these items with my own money.

My 2013 Resolutions

Heyy AG-Lovers! Since I didn't get the chance to do this yesterday, here are my AG related resolutions!

1. Upload once (or more!) every two weeks. Sometimes I will upload more than this, like this week I've already uploaded 2 times and am uploading another now, but some weeks will be busier than others. I still want to get a video up at least every two weeks.

2. Post at least once every 4 days. I really want to start putting out posts on a steadier basis, so every four days will be my posting "schedule".

3. Focus on things for the dolls I have, not more dolls. Now that I got Saige, I don't really want any other dolls this year, so I want to just focus on clothing, etc. for them instead of the dolls themselves.

4. Create a better doll room. Right now, I uses some floor space and a few shelves in my closet. I would like to re-do my doll room and create a nice organized space with a section for Saige, Cécile and Marie-Grace, and my "modern" dolls: Zoe, Julie, Kit and Ruthie. I'm using Julie, Kit, and Ruthie as modern dolls now and may in the future make them more historical but I like dressing them in modern clothing. So, creating a organized yet fun doll room is definitely something I want to do this year!

Those are my New Year's Resolutions :) What resolutions do you have? I love hearing what you have to say :D

Saige and My AGPNY Trip!

Heyy guys! Today I went to the American Girl Place! Tomorrow, I'll upload my opening video and what I got so for now, here's a quick overview of my trip.

5:30 - I woke up and got ready to go.
6:00 - We left and drove to the train station.
7:05 - On the train!
8:35 - We got off the train and started walking to the American Girl Place.
9:10 - Arrived at the AGP and waited in line. We were very close the the front of the line and by the time it opened there was a huge line behind us. I'm glad we got there when we did.
10:00 - In the store! :D
After that I got some of the free items they give away, did the crafts, and took my picture with Saige in the hot air balloon cut-out (this year's photo-op). Then I did the scavenger hunt type Creativity Challenge and then got Saige! I had been saving up for about two years, and used this money to purchase all that I got. I also dropped my doll Zoe off at the Doll Hospital check-in.
I got Saige's Starter Collection, and some other things that will be in tomorrow's post.
So Happy New Year, it's 2013!!
Thanks for reading/commenting and tomorrow more posts and videos to come! (with pictures!).
